JCP related news/updates

Heather VanCura

Hi all,

I wanted to give you a few JCP related updates.  As you may know, in 2020 we began an initiative around Java in Education, We have been working on updating the materials for JUG leaders to use in hosting virtual events in their community for students/junior developers. We have added the target audience and abstracts for both presentations.

On the wiki you can also find tips for reaching out to the local educational community.

We are now starting to work on brief
virtual video interviews to inspire the next generation of Java developers, by sharing how several Java professionals use Java and how it has helped their career. Let me know if you would like to be included in an interview.

It's that Fall time of year again so that means it is time for the annual JCP EC Elections.  Check out details on how to participate:
Under the JCP 2.11 rules, the EC has resized. In 2021 and going forward, there will be 11 Ratified Seats, 4 Elected Seats, 2 Associate Seats and the permanent seat held by Oracle America.
